چکیده

A field experiment was carried out at the Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Sam Higginbottom University Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj during Rabi season 2022 on Mustard crop. The laid in randomized block design with ten treatments three replications. soil experimental plot sandy loam texture, nearly neutral reaction (pH 7.1), low organic carbon (0.36%), available N (171.48 kg/ha), P (15.2 kg/ha) K (232.5 kg/ha). maximum plant height (175.97 cm), primary branches (8.85), secondary (18.85/plant), dry weight (40.97 g/plant) 100 DAS hybrid M-155 recorded. Maximum growth rate (CGR) recorded 60-80 (10.24 g/m2 /day), number siliqua/plant (466.27), seeds/siliqua (13.63), test (5.40 g) seed yield (2.40 t/ha) were observed M-155. Variability of Fatty Acid Composition in Interspecific Hybrids of Mustard Brassica Juncea and Brassica Napus

In Sri Lanka, mustard (Brassica juncea) is cultivated as a subsidiary crop for the seeds used as a condiment in cooking. In the Indian sub-continent, however, it is an important oilseed crop used as a source of vegetable oil. Mustard has over 45% erucic acid (C22:1) which is unsuitable nutritionally for human consumption. The Brassica oilseed species, B. napus and B. campestris, were developed ...

COMPARISON OF HALF-SIB AND FULL-SIB PROGENY SELECTION METHODS IN INDIAN MUSTARD (Brassica juncea L.) UNDER RAINFED CONDITIONS

An experiment was carried out to compare half-sib and full-sib progeny selection methods in Indian mustard (Brassica juncea L.) under rainfed conditions from 2006-07 to 2009-10 for 14 morpho-physiological characters. Full-sib and half-sib progenies were developed from different populations. The values of genetic parameters were higher in full-sibs compared to half-sibs for a greater number of t...

ASSESSING APHID INFESTATION IN INDIAN MUSTARD (Brassica juncea L.) UNDER PRESENT AND FUTURE CLIMATE SCENARIOS

Mustard (Brassica juncea L.) production in India suffers from aphid, Lipaphis erysimi (Kaltenbach), infestation considerably. Role of weather on the incidence and development of mustard aphids was assessed from experimental data from six north Indian locations. Aphid appearance and population build up was found to be regulated by temperature and time to attain peak population was relatively sho...

Growth response modulation by putrescine in Indian mustard Brassica juncea L. under multiple stress.

Plants, in general, are put to various kinds of stress, biotic and abiotic, both natural and manmade. Infestation by insect pests and diseases, and extreme conditions such as salinity, temperature, etc., as well as heavy metal contamination affect their growth performance. Here, we studied the impact of salinity and heavy metal pollution on the growth performance of Indian Mustard Brassica junc...

Effect of cadaverine on Brassica juncea (L.) under multiple stress.

The cadaverine (Cad), an organic diamine was examined for its response on growth in salinity and metal stressed B. juncea cv RH-30 vis-à-vis compared the response of ammonium nitrate. The Cad (1 mM) application ameliorated the effect caused by salinity and metal stress on seed germination and plant growth. The plant growth recovery (dry biomass accumulation) was dependent on stress and diamine ...
